The Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) is a distinctive degree for inquisitive students who want to excel.You’ll also have the flexibility to tailor your degree to suit your career goals.
You can choose to extend your abilities in two majors.
Or, take just one and complement it with a set of elective courses focused on developing your leadership and citizenship.
Structure
BA (Advanced) students are appointed an academic mentor for the duration of their degree and are able to focus on advanced level study from the first year of study. Students will study two majors, undertake a 3-unit course in advanced humanities theory and method, and complete a 6-unit research project in their final year under the supervision of their academic mentor. The remainder of the degree is made up of free choice electives from disciplines within the Faculty of Arts. Students studying this program will attend various discipline research seminars, career and industry talks.

Entry requirements
For those who are based in Adelaide, we will be offering a blended delivery mode that combines face-to-face with remote learning in as many courses as possible, taking into consideration social distancing and hygiene. All lectures will continue to be delivered online for the remainder of the year, with some exceptions.
For our students who are studying offshore for the remainder of the 2020 Academic Year, the University will continue to offer high-quality access to the learning resources remotely. This includes all lectures, tutorials and other support material. Students will be advised in advance if there are course components that cannot be provided in remote mode and, wherever possible, offered alternative courses.

If you maintain a high GPA, you will have the opportunity take part in an internship in your third year with an organisation from within the arts, media, parliament or environment. These include State Parliament and a range of public and business sector agencies, where you can use the knowledge from your university study in a practical work environment, building valuable networks and gaining experience that counts towards your degree program and prepares you for your future career.
