The Bachelor of Business provides a flexible qualification where you can develop your knowledge, skills and understanding of business and commerce through global and local contexts.

You will be supported to be innovative thinkers and able to meet the challenges of a changing business world.

This student-centred course provides you with the career and professional skills needed in a variety of business fields.

Communication, presentation and problem-solving skills are emphasised throughout the course.

You will be supported to develop fundamental business knowledge and understanding, with the opportunity to specialise in particular areas of interest.

Electives(1-7 units) - 10-70cp

General Elective units totalling 10 to 70 credit points selected from undergraduate units offered by the University. Students must ensure they take a minimum of 60cp at 300 level or above across the degree.

Students completing a Single Major complete 70cp of general elective units. Students completing a Double Major complete 10cp of general elective units. Students completing the Human Resource Management major (Certificate IV pathway) complete 60cp of general elective units. Students completing the Human Resource Management major (Diploma pathway) complete 40cp of general elective units. Students completing the Project Management major (Diploma pathway) complete 40cp of general elective units. Students completing the Tourism and Destination Management major (Diploma pathway) complete 40cp of general elective units. Students completing the Workplace Health and Safety major (Diploma pathway) complete 40cp of general elective units.

When selecting electives, choose units at a suitable level. The first number in each unit code indicates the year level at which the subject is taught. Undergraduate units are coded at 100 to 300 level, therefore units coded as BUS1xx, BUS2xx and BUS3xx would be first, second and third year units respectively. Within the whole course, you must ensure you complete no more than 100 credit points at 100 level, and at least 60 credit points at 300 level or above.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements for the Bachelor of Business are dependent of the single or double major award streams you are applying for; these are listed in the two blocks below. For the customised selection or the following award streams: Strategic Marketing and Communication International Management and Logistics Entrepreneurship and Innovation Strategic Marketing and Communication and International Management and Logistics Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Strategic Marketing and Communication International Management and Logistics and Entrepreneurship and Innovation The admission requirements for the above are met by one of the following: Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 60*. Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate IV level or higher. Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma. Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications. Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 135 (or a score of 145 if prior to May 2010). Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the ACIKE Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognised tertiary preparation course. Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience. * After any applicable adjustment factors have been applied. For the single majors listed below admission requirements are met by successful completion of the VET qualification specified for that major: Tourism and Destination Management - successful completion of the VET qualification SIT50116 - Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management or SIT50416 - Diploma of Hospitality Management or SIT50316 - Diploma of Event Management.
