About

The Bachelor of Podiatry Practice (Honours) course will provide knowledge and equip you with skills that will allow you to assess, diagnose and treat disorders of the foot and lower limb of people of all ages.

In this course, you will have the opportunity to learn about human anatomy, physiology, pathology, wound care, podiatric therapeutics and conduct a research study.

You will have at least 1000 hours of hands-on experience treating real patients in the CQUniversity Health Clinic and at various off-campus clinical sites.

You will conduct gait and movement analyses in our biomechanical laboratories and you will also have the opportunity to fabricate custom made foot orthotic devices in our fully equipped orthotic laboratories.

You will have the opportunity to work with experienced practitioners to ensure your clinical management is based on sound clinical reasoning and is evidence based.

The course will equip you with extensive theoretical knowledge and clinical experience that will provide you with the necessary advanced skills to commence professional practice as a podiatrist in a variety of clinical settings.

Entry Requirements

English (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent

English Language Proficiency Requirements

If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or United States of America, you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.

Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion within the last 5 years of:

  • A secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
  • Bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA of 4.0

completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or United states of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores:

  • An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 7.0 with a minimum 7.0 in each subset; or
  • An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components.

English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.
