This major is designed for students seeking broad careers in the property industry.This major should form part of an appropriate double major in combination with finance or marketing.This course is designed for students seeking a wider range of business skills with some property content. This property major will not be eligible for Australian Property Institute (API) membership at the Certified Practicing Valuer (CPV) level.
Structure
This major is only available as a Double Major: Property and Finance; Property and Marketing.
Major/Stream Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. apply principles of property analysis, finance, economics, information systems, statistics, law and behavioural science as they relate to the analysis and operation of property markets
2. critically analyse issues in data collection, recording and reporting of property market activity
3. locate, extract and critically appraise information related to property markets and operations from sources within an organisation and from external sources
4. relate the significance of commercial events and issues within property markets and the business community using structured financial communication and appropriate language
5. use electronic resources to interrogate databases, analyse data, collect information and communicate
6. take responsibility for self-directed learning and the development of a career-long attitude of continuing professional development
7. recognise the global nature of the property industry by applying relevant international property standards and appreciate the information requirements of a global financial system
8. demonstrate an understanding that cultural practices and differences impact commercial practices and interpersonal relations
9. apply an ethical approach to analysing commercial activities and advising clients, demonstrate leadership and the ability to delegate tasks to ensure timely outcomes, and work independently to achieve agreed outcomes
