STRU-OLGAS v.1 Oil and Gas Stream (BEng Hons)

Curtin University

About

This major/stream is part of a larger course. Information is specific to the major/stream, please refer to the course for more information.

In the Oil and Gas Stream of the Chemical Engineering Major, students examine the development, design, assessment and management of processes for the production of a wide range of materials, including those produced from hydrocarbon resources. It covers the theory and applications of thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer and reaction engineering. Building on this foundation, students go on to explore process control, synthesis and design, process economics, risk management and safety, and research studies. This stream helps prepare students who have a desire to enter the oil and gas industry through specialised units in petroleum engineering, oil refining and natural gas processing.
