Graduates from JCU’s Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education (HPE) have specialised skills and are employed as educators in a variety of clinical and healthcare settings.HPE is applicable to a range of healthcare settings.
Graduates pursue careers in private and public hospitals, tertiary, rural and remote health services, and in community settings and clinics.Graduates find work as educators in medicine, nursing, dentistry and all allied health professions.
You could find employment as a clinical educator, supervisor or preceptor for health students.On completion of the Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education you may choose to go on to study the Graduate Diploma of Health Professional Education or Master of Health Professional Education.

Entry requirements

Course pre-requisites | Registration as a nurse, doctor of medicine or other health professional in Australia; or Completion of an appropriate AQF level 7 bachelor degree in a relevant discipline with 2 years relevant experience or equivalent. |
Minimum English language proficiency requirements | Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 3a – Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy. |
Additional selection requirements | In some instances students may be called for interview, prior to admission. Information published by JCU or otherwise made available to students when applying, may specify additional criteria to be considered in ranking applicants in order of merit if the number of applications exceeds a quota or other limit on the places made available for the course. Information provided by applicants during the application process and any other information obtained by JCU in the application process may be used by JCU to rank applicants in order of merit by reference to those additional criteria. |
