La Trobe's Bachelor of Business (Agribusiness) gives you the business, economic and financial expertise to meet this demand.

You'll also develop sought-after skills in the emerging areas of digital business and business analytics.

Course subjects are delivered at different regional La Trobe campuses, so you'll gain unique insights into how agribusiness operates across different Victorian regions.

You'll also gain hands-on experience in real-world agribusiness industries, ranging from farms to multinationals.

You'll learn:

Agribusiness management Explore the concepts, processes, ideas, issues and experiences of agribusiness managers and management.

Economic issues and public policy Analyse current economic issues and develop appropriate public policy responses to them.

Sustainability Understand the complex interactions between the environmental, economic and social dimensions of sustainability Business data analysis Gain an introduction to statistical literacy and apply statistical concepts to critical business problems and major social issues.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.

Entry requirements

Applicants with recent secondary education (within the last two years)

Prerequisite

VCE: Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

HSC: One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 2), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 3).

Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) (Current year 12 students exempt)

La Trobe will consider STAT Multiple Choice results for applicants where: the course has an English prerequisite equivalent to VCE: Units 3 and 4: a study score of 20 in English other than EAL, and/or Units 3 and 4: a study score of 20 in Further Mathematics, and, the course requirements through Work Recognition are not met, or Year 12 or equivalent has not been successfully completed. Subject adjustments

VCE: A study score of 25 in any Business, English other than EAL or any Mathematics equals 4 aggregate points per study. A study score of 20 in any LOTE equals 4 aggregate points per study. A study score of 30 in English (EAL) equals 4 aggregate points per study. Overall maximum of 12 points.

HSC: Applicants who successfully complete one of the following HSC or equivalent Year 12 courses will have their selection rank increased by one point per study: Performance Band 3 in any business subject, English Standard or English Advanced, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2; English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 4); any language other than English (Band 2). Overall, selection ranks can be increased by a maximum of five points.
