Bachelor of Agriculture and Technology

La Trobe University

About

La Trobe's Bachelor of Agriculture and Technology is one of the few agriculture degrees in Australia with a practical focus.

Specially designed with industry input, graduates of this degree are prepared to meet the needs of an industry currently being transformed by technology and digital disruption.

Choose from specialisations such as agronomy, viticulture and winemaking or sports turf science;

and complete an agricultural studies major alongside core subjects from these specialisation.

Alternatively you have the option to tailor your subjects around a unique career goal or pathway.

Delivered in partnership with Melbourne Polytechnic, the course combines classroom and online learning, with practical study opportunities.

You'll gain hands-on experience in Melbourne Polytechnic's labs and facilities, including the wireless sensor platforms onsite at Melbourne Polytechnic farms.

During your three-year degree you'll have the opportunity to complete an industry placement, and depending on your specialisation you'll gain experience learning on-site in wineries, vineyards, laboratories, equestrian facilities and commercially operated farms.

For more information please visit the Melbourne Polytechnic website.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.
