Marketing is the process of creating, communicating, delivering and exchanging offerings that have value for customers.
It’s much more than just advertising or selling.
Rather, it’s about connecting an organisation to its stakeholders through understanding and servicing their needs.With a Bachelor of Marketing you’ll learn what makes a brilliant marketing strategy, how brands build value through differentiation, and develop the creative and technical insights you need to help businesses build their brand.
Structure
The course develops through the themes of foundation business knowledge, specialist discipline knowledge, capstone experience, and in addition includes elective study.
Part A. Foundation business knowledge
This will provide you with a study of marketing and the impact they have on decision making in organisations.
Part B. Specialist discipline knowledge
These studies will develop your capacity as a critical and creative professional who is able to apply your knowledge of marketing to provide discipline-based solutions for business. Units contained within the discipline specialisation may meet the requirements for professional accreditation bodies.
Part C. Capstone experience
The capstone unit will consolidate your knowledge and skills acquired through the study of your specialisation and provide experience in multi-disciplinary processes and decision making.
Part D. Free elective study
These are free electives which will enable you to further your knowledge of marketing, or business more broadly, or to select units from across the University in which you are eligible to enrol.

All applicants must satisfy the following prerequisites or their equivalents.
Australian VCE subjects
English
Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in English other than EAL
Maths
Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 22 in one of Mathematical Methods (any) or Specialist Mathematics or 25 in Further Mathematics

At least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL

Applicants should note that the above English and mathematics prerequisites, or their interstate/overseas equivalents, must be satisfied.
TAFE Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma graduates: Applicants will require a minimum 60% average to be considered for selection. Preference will be given to applicants whose prior studies are related to the course. Programs that involve competency-based assessment without grades or marks will not be sufficient to meet admission requirements.
Monash College entry requirements:
- Diploma of Business (Business stream) Part 2 average: 62%
- Monash University Foundation Year average: 70%
Higher education
University: Applicants will require a minimum 60% average to be considered for selection. Preference will be given to applicants whose prior studies are related to the course. A minimum of two single units must be completed in order to meet minimum admission requirements.
