The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is also now available in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Masters vertical double pathway.

This is an accelerated program for high-achieving students to be on track to earn, in just 5 years, both a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and an expert master’s degree in Advanced Engineering.You will have an outstanding practical and theoretical preparation for a career in engineering, with a rich selection of specialist electives and strong links to industry.

The expert master’s degree will extend your knowledge and provide you with advanced leadership and complex problem solving skills.An Honours Weighted Average of 70% must be attained by the end of level 3, to use two Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) electives in 4th year to take units from your chosen master’s.

You will graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) as a fully qualified engineer after 4 years, and will be able to cross credit the master’s units towards your destination master’s course.Successful completion of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a minimum 70% average will enable direct entry to the Master of Advanced Engineering with only one year (36 credit points) of study to complete.The Masters Accelerated Pathway option is available for the following specialisations:

Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer Systems, Materials, Mechanical or Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering.

Subject prerequisites

All applicants must satisfy the following prerequisites or their equivalents.

Australian VCE subjects

English

Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in English other than EAL

Maths

Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 25 in Mathematical Methods (any)

Sciences/Other

Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 25 in Chemistry or Physics

IB subjects

English

At least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL

Maths

At least 4 in Mathematics SL or 3 in Mathematics HL or 3 in Further Mathematics HL

Sciences/Other

At least 4 in Chemistry SL or 3 in Chemistry HL or 4 in Physics SL or 3 in Physics HL.

This program is only available to students who have completed Year 12 and have no prior tertiary study.

Multiple pathways to this course

Applicants who have successfully completed Year 12 are eligible to apply for this course.

Applicants with no formal secondary or tertiary qualifications are not eligible to apply for this course. This course uses the entire academic record as part of its selection considerations.
