About

In this course, you’ll graduate ready to work as a primary classroom teacher for Years 1 to 6 and also as a secondary teacher specialising in Health and Physical Education (HPE) up to Year 10.You’ll study areas of the primary curriculum including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education and the Arts.Throughout your degree, you will gain qualifications in coaching and officiating, with the opportunity to work with specialist coaches from a variety of sporting bodies such as the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), Tennis Australia, Basketball WA and Hockey WA.You’ll design, deliver and lead a sport development program for juniors, either within a school or club and receive coaching accreditation in selected sports.6 reasons to study Primary, 1-10 Health and Physical Education Teaching:Join the only teaching program in WA where you can apply for a two-week school placement in Thailand with your flights, visas and accommodation paid for by the government.

We offer a variety of internships across WA, including some 12-month placements.

Before you start your first school placement, you’ll be able to practice dealing with challenging behavior, parent teacher interviews and other situations through our SimLabTM technology.

Entry requirements

Advanced Standing

Everyone has a different path to university so if you’ve already completed formal or informal learning, you could receive advanced standing. Also known as recognition of prior learning, advanced standing can reduce the amount of study needed to complete your degree by giving you credit for certain units.

Formal learning can include previous study in higher education vocational education or adult and community education. Informal learning can include on the job learning, various kinds of work and life experience.
