This combined degree program provides students with an opportunity to undertake concurrent study in mechanical engineering and mathematics and complete two awards.
In general, a combined degree program offers greater breadth of learning, enhancing the academic and professional qualities gained in each separate degree.
At the same time, it recognises the increasing need for students to graduate with multidisciplinary skills.Mechanical engineering works to improve the design, safety and energy efficiency of the machines that support industry and society - machines such as vehicles, air conditioners, wheelchairs, cars, lifts and aircraft.
It is perhaps the broadest of all engineering disciplines and allows students to choose from the widest possible range of specialisations.Combined with the valuable expertise analysing data, producing models and predicting future trends in a variety of areas from studies in Mathematics, this degree will offer many opportunities for its graduates.
