About
The Master of Educational Studies degree is intended for practising teachers and other educators who wish to gain postgraduate professional qualifications in a wide variety of educational contexts and to acquire or update their expertise.
The approach used in the program blends theory and practice, with an emphasis on applying research findings to best educational practices.
The program is undertaken by coursework, with the option of undertaking an Educational Research specialisation consisting of a minor thesis with research methodology courses.NOTE:
this is NOT an initial teaching qualification, it is assumed that applicants are qualified teachers.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the program students will have:
- The ability to critically analyse complex educational issues and/or apply research findings to inform and lead professional practice in a variety of settings
- The ability to engage through advanced effective written communication in professinal discourse and debate on education
- The ability to develop advanced constructive strategies, plans or solutions for diverse educational communities and stakeholders
- The ability to critically reflect and act upon the implication of research and knowledge production to improve education
