It offers flexibility with distance delivery, block attendance, external study and online learning for selected units.
Structure
Domestic Students
Students in the Graduate Certificate in Health Science complete four units from one study area. To complete a major, students must complete at least four units from the same study area within the Faculty of Health. Students can graduate with one specified major only.

- Occupational Health and Safety*
- Quality and Patient Safety
* Students wishing to complete a graduate diploma qualification in Environmental Health or Occupational Health and Safety should apply for entry into the Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
International Students

Entry requirements
A completed recognised bachelor degree in any discipline; or
A completed recognised diploma qualification (or higher award) with at least three years full-time equivalent (FTE) professional work experience which includes at least one year in a supervisory or leadership role (e.g. with responsibility for decision making, team work, quality assurance, and/or policy development); or
Current registration within the applicant’s field of practice with a nationally recognised professional body with at least three years full-time equivalent (FTE) professional work experience.
Overseas qualifications
QUT will consider equivalent overseas qualifications for admissions purposes. If you have tertiary qualifications from countries where English is not the standard language of instruction, you must provide evidence of English language proficiency.
English language proficiency
QUT requires students to demonstrate that they can speak, write, read and comprehend academic English to a specified standard.
QUT’s English proficiency requirements for this course are:
- IELTS (Academic): 6.5 or better overall with no subscore below 6.0
- PTE: 58 or better overall with no subscore below 50
- TOEFL (IBT): 79 or better overall with a writing subscore of 21 or better, a speaking subscore of 18 or better and no other subscore lower than 16
- CAE: 176 or better overall with no subscore below 169
The test must have been completed within 2 years prior to the proposed course start month.
