About
The Master of Nurse Practitioner provides an opportunity for registered nurses to acquire an advanced level of knowledge and skill in preparation for endorsement as a nurse practitioner.
The course demonstrates a clear integration with national nurse practitioner standards of practice that are grounded in research and leadership.
Once completed, you can further your development by enrolling in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Entry requirements
Academic entry requirements
A completed recognised graduate certificate in nursing (or relevant discipline) and current registration as a nurse (Division 1) without conditions with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Additional entry requirements
You must provide:
- a statement of service on an official letterhead confirming that you have a minimum of four years full-time equivalent (FTE) clinical practice experience as a registered nurse in the nominated speciality
- a letter supporting advanced practice (PDF file, 291.9 KB) that confirms your recent clinical practice experience includes a minimum of two years FTE experience (within the last six years) in an advanced nursing practice role in the nominated speciality area
- a letter of support from the Executive Director of Nursing (or equivalent) (PDF file, 174.0 KB) confirming their support for you to undertake the course
- you must complete the applicant details form (PDF file, 189.6 KB) and be currently working in an advanced nursing practice role.

The final date to apply is 31 January. Applications for the next intake will open 1 July 2020 for the Feb 2021 start.

This course is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Graduates may apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) ANMAC for authorisation to practise as a nurse practitioner in Australia.
