ephemeral and fictional interiors. You will learn how to design through the process of actual designing - developing your own design response in relation to a range of design briefs from the conceptual to real life situations.
With an emphasis on idea-led and research-informed design you will study histories and theory of design, visual arts, film, architecture and other related areas.
You will be provided with technical and communication tools such as Autocad, 3D imaging, hand drawing, film production and model making as well as verbal presentation skills.
The knowledge and skills you will develop will enable you to work in diverse contexts locally and globally with an advanced level of knowledge that will enable you to challenge existing assumptions about interior design and engage design as an agent of social and cultural change.A research based major project will enable you to synthesize and integrate your knowledge, skills and experience from the previous three years of study.
It will also establish a point of departure into a specialized area of professional practice and/or further research in post graduate qualification. On completion of the program, you will be able to enter the profession with a specialised knowledge of interior design as an expanded practice.
