About
The Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) program has been designed to assist in the development of your artistic and creative skills within a diverse range of practical and theoretical activities, located in the broad professional area of Fine Art practice.
You will develop your capacity to address conceptual, technical, perceptual, formal and aesthetic concerns as they relate to Fine Art practice.
You will also develop hands-on skills to undertake and initiate independent investigations as an integral part of your professional and artistic development.The BA (Fine Art) program has specialised areas of study and making.
You will develop a deep understanding of one or more of these specialised areas:
Ceramics, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Art:
Histoy+Theory+Cultures.
You can also select from a combination of courses across the program, allowing for additional areas of study or development of an inter-disciplinary practice or maintain a stream of specialisation.In your final semester you will have a capstone learning experience.
This capstone experience will enable you to synthesise and integrate knowledge, connect theory and practice as well as demonstrate holistic achievement of program learning outcomes.

Entry requirements
Consideration for entry into the program is based on submission of a portfolio assessment, successful interview, and meeting the following minimum entry requirements:
Academic Entry Requirements:
Applicants must complete one of the following for entry into the program:
Minimum 15 points for 4 core and 2 elective subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) (points calculated on level achieved); or Minimum of D grade average for best 3 subjects in Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) Equivalent senior high school results recognised by RMIT University Diploma in Fine Art or Higher Diploma in Fine Art from Hong Kong Art School
Applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements may be admitted to the program as a mature-aged applicant, provided they have successfully met the portfolio and interview requirements. The definition of a mature-aged student for entry into the degree is someone twenty one years of age or over on 1st January in the year in which they propose to commence the program.
English Language Entry Requirements:
Applicants are required to provide evidence of one of the following:
IELTS 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0; or TOEFL score of 580+ (TWE 4.5+); or RMIT English Worldwide (REW) Advanced Plus or equivalent; or HKDSE score of 4 or more English Language; or Cambridge English (Advanced CAE): CAE Grade B; or Pearson: Minimum score of 58 (no band less than 50); or Other equivalent qualifications as listed on the RMIt website (URL: http://www.rmit.edu.au/international/english-equivalent): or Successful completion of at least the equivalent of a two year tertiary program of at least AQF Level 5 within the past five years, where English is the language of teaching and assessment; or successful completiong within the past 12 months of the final 2 years of secondary studies in an approved secondary school where English is the language of teaching and assessment, and an approved final year English subject score equivalent to the Victorian Certificate of Education English study score set by RMIT University for entry to Bachelor degrees.

- Critically examine global, social, cultural, environmental and historical knowledge and contexts to inform your art practice
- Engage in continued learning and independent practice, in response to developments in technology, culture and artistic production
- Employ individual and collaborative modes of fine art practice and apply skills in teamwork, leadership and self-management
- Form, develop and implement a vision and philosophy of art in which to base your professional practice and/or future study.
