The program offers you a generalist communications degree incorporating courses and specialist study in Journalism, Media, Advertising and Public Relations.
The interdisciplinary nature of the degree reflects the workplace reality of increasing integration of these professions.
The degree integrates professional practice with theoretical frameworks.
It encourages creative and critical thinking, and offers diversity in approaches to teaching and learning.
Across the professional communication disciplines, you will be actively engaged in a range of teaching modes and learning environments including studios, lectures and workshops.
The program's capstone course will consolidate and extend your discipline knowledge through individual and collaborative projects.
On completion of the program you will be a practitioner with broad knowledge of the media and communications industries.
You will be able to analyse issues, work with others and communicate informed ideas and apply independent judgement to problems within a global communications context.
Graduates in this program can expect to work in professional roles, both local and international, in a variety of areas such as communication consultancies, journalism, broadcast and online media, government policy, and advertising.

Entry requirements
You must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent senior secondary school) qualification.

Prerequisites
Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in any English.
International English language requirement
