The Graduate Certificate of Tertiary Teaching and Learning (TT&L) is designed to improve your learning and teaching practice as a tertiary teacher and to equip you to teach effectively in the Higher Education sector.
The program provides opportunities for you to explore issues in tertiary learning and teaching, course design, assessment and creative problem solving in the context of current and emerging professional practice.
Underpinning the course is a commitment to student-centred learning.
The program has been designed to complement the RMIT Academic Plan and the Learning and Teaching Strategy by providing a platform for implementing the RMIT mission to “create and disseminate knowledge to meet the needs of industry and community and foster in students the skills and passion to contribute to and engage with the world.” In particular, the program has been designed to assist you to understand what it means to:Provide students with a global passport Ensure flexible and useful learning opportunities for students.
Create stimulating and satisfying learning experiences for students Implement e-learning in an RMIT context.
Provide effective supervision to higher degree research students.The objectives of the Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning are to provide learning experiences which enable you to:Reflect critically on your own learning & teaching and supervision practice with openness to continuously improving that practice.
Work effectively in e-learning environments.
Design, deliver and evaluate culturally appropriate learning and supervision experiences.
Engage creatively with diverse learning situations with a flexible approach to learning & teaching and supervision.
See yourself as a co-learner with your students as part of a life-long learning process of professional learning and development.

Entry requirements
Academic entrance requirements: An Australian undergraduate degree or its equivalent. Applicants with significant work experience or professional practice may be considered. International English language requirements:
- IELTS (Academic): 7.0 (no band less than 6.5)
- TOEFL (Paper based): 600 (TWE 5.0)
- TOEFL (Internet Based Test – iBT): Overall score of 100 with minimum of 24 in writing and 22 in all other sections
- Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE(A)): 65 (no band less than 58)
- Cambridge English – Advanced (CAE): CAE Grade B
- RMIT English Worldwide (REW) – English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programs: (Advanced 2 certificate pre- 2011)
