The Graduate Certificate in Fashion (Entrepreneurship) provides you with an introduction to the capabilities, knowledge, and confidence to create your own fashion enterprise and/or build a career within the global fashion industry.Fashion entrepreneurs provide leadership while continuously questioning the status quo to create added value.
This Graduate Certificate will develop your skills as an entrepreneurial thinker, to recognise opportunities, be resourceful, passionate and understand your capacity within the dynamic fashion environment.Entrepreneurs ‘learn-by-doing’ and this graduate certificate encourages you to take charge of your own learning via authentic industry practice.
You will develop an applied and theoretical perspective to fashion entrepreneurship while networking with entrepreneurs and leaders in the fashion industry.Upon graduation, you will have gained an understanding of the fashion system and contemporary fashion entrepreneurship practices within it.
You will have acquired business skills and knowledge enabling you to develop a fashion venture or work collaboratively to plan and produce projects for a fashion business.The Graduate Certificate in Fashion (Entrepreneurship) offers you a flexible structure depending on your prior experience and knowledge.
If your previous qualification is within the discipline of fashion and/or textiles, your pathway is via the introductory business course options.
If your background is from any other undergraduate discipline, your pathway takes you through courses offering a fundamental overview of the fashion system.The courses offered in this program are delivered face-to-face in Brunswick.
Structure
Year One of Program
Option 1-For students who do not have a Fashion and/or Textiles Degree: Semester One - Complete the following Four (4) Courses:

Entry requirements
You must have successfully completed:
- an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline with a GPA of at least 2.5 (out of 4.0), or
- a four year Australian bachelor degree with honours (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline with a GPA of at least 2.5 (out of 4.0), or
- a minimum of five years relevant work experience in the fashion industry.
If you have a GPA lower than 2.50 you may still apply but selection will be merit based and assessed on a one page personal statement and an interview. The one page personal statement should outline the reasons you will benefit from undertaking the Graduate Certificate of Fashion (Entrepreneurship) and how it's aligned to your interests, aspirations and career ambitions.
To have your professional experience considered you must submit a CV with your application.
English language requirements
A minimum IELTS (Academic module) overall score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0; or equivalent. For equivalents to English entry requirements, see the English equivalents web page http://www.rmit.edu.au/international/english-equivalent
