About
The Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning is a stand-alone award that offers a pathway for further learning leading to a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning or the Master of Financial Planning, or can be an exit point for those enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning or Master of Financial Planning.
The program aims to broaden knowledge and skills for students entering with a qualification in an unrelated discipline, while students from a related discipline will deepen their existing knowledge and skills. The Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning provides recent graduates with the opportunity to acquire contemporary financial planning knowledge and skills to further existing careers in financial planning or provide an introductory understanding of financial planning as a discipline.
Three of the four courses which make up the Graduate Certificate are bridging courses specified by the Financial Planner Standards and Ethics Agency for those graduates of financial planning programs who need additional postgraduate courses to meet the standards for registration as a financial planner in Australia. The program provides learning experiences to apply financial planning theories and concepts across a range of core financial areas of interest such as superannuation and retirement.
Students will be involved in a variety of face-to-face and online learning activities, which includes lectures, simulations and other experiential activities (seminars, individual and team presentations, and preparing formal advice proposals). This program is delivered on-campus.
