About
The Graduate Certificate in Global Trade is educating the next generation of leadership talent in the trade sector in Asia.The Graduate Certificate in Global Trade is an early exit point for those who enrolled in the Master of Global Trade after completion of the 4 courses:
Global Trade, Sales & Cross-Cultural Negotiations, Global Market Entry Strategies, and Business Data Analytics.The program has been developed in collaboration with the Hinrich Foundation and with key industry partners.
The shared goal for the global trade postgraduate degree is to respond to skill needs in the sector by developing an engaging trade focused curriculum and authentic educational experience.Supporting the notion that trade is the primary driver of economic development, delivering higher standards of living to the citizens of all countries that participate in the trade ecosystem, the program provides emerging managers with the opportunity to acquire contemporary business knowledge and skills to promote sustainable global trade in the region.Utilising face to face, online, and industry-based undertakings students will be involved in a variety of activities, which may include webinars, discussion forums, simulations, individual and team presentations, preparing industry partner consulting projects and other experiential activities.
The program also offers extensive networking opportunities and a pathway for career advancement for graduates.The program emphasises the development of capabilities to engage in real world issues in the international trade sector.
This program provides a range of authentic learning experiences which will allow students to develop a contextual macro understanding of global trade, build skills in the areas of trade facilitation, enhance managerial leadership and cross-cultural management, and to provide demonstrated evidence of learning applications.Successful completion of the program will provide recent graduates and emerging managers with the opportunity to acquire contemporary business knowledge and skills to promote sustainable global trade.
The program has been developed to inspire, educate, grow and lead those intending to take up leadership roles in an increasingly complex and uncertain world.
This program develops knowledge and skills which will enable graduates to actively contribute to the development of sustainable trade notably in the Asia region.
The program also enables graduates to possibly join professional bodies, such as, Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML) and Hinrich Alumni Association.The Graduate Certificate in Global Trade graduates will possess a global outlook that is a highly desired factor by employers in both Vietnam and overseas.
They are expected to stand in the pioneer group of the sector to manage cross border exchange operations in government, private corporations, import and export businesses, and research organisations.

Entry requirements
Minimum Academic Requirements:
- For applicants who have a prior AQF 7 qualification or equivalent in a cognate business discipline, GPA of 1 (out of 4) are typically admitted directly into the Master’s qualification and are exempted from the 4 enabling courses, and complete 12 out of the 16 courses (1.5 years).
- For applicants who have an AQF 7 qualification or equivalent in any discipline (not business) or those who do not have an AQF 7 qualification or equivalent but have relevant work experience, they are admitted into the Graduate Certificate.
Minimum English Language Requirements:
IELTS (Academic) 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or equivalent, which may include:
- Successful completion of RMIT Vietnam English Advanced Level
- TOEFL Paper based 580 (TWE 4.5); TOEFL Internet based 79 (minimum 13 in reading, 12 in listening, 18 in speaking and 21 in writing);
- Pearson Test of English (Academic) 58 (no communication band less than 50)

Note: TOEFL and IELTS are recognised for two years from the test date. RMIT English results are only recognised for one year from the course completion date.
