About
The GD069 Graduate Diploma in Careers Education and Development has been designed for you to develop essential theoretical knowledge and technical skills in career development for the emerging and important career development industry.You will critically engage with career development practice and be conversant in the key concepts and competencies underpinning the constantly changing and growing career development industry, with a focus on collaborative practice.
While acquiring knowledge and skills in traditional areas of practice such as vocational assessment and preparation for employment, you will also learn about developing issues such as work/life balance, case management and career construction while exploring emerging trends in technology and social media.
A capstone experience based on an individually negotiated professional placement will enable you to synthesize and integrate your knowledge, connect theory and practice as well as demonstrate your holistic achievement of the program learning outcomes.On completion of the program you will be a professional practitioner with knowledge and skills in the career development industry.
You will be able to employ core competencies to a range of clients in diverse settings such as education, employment services, the corporate world, and private practice.In your preparation for your professional and leadership activities in career development, you will also be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
You will be able to confidently communicate with management and the employer sector and allied professionals such as welfare workers, pathways providers and those in learning and development.You will gain skills in global contexts for research and life-long learning to enable you to confidently contribute to an industry that is always evolving.
You will gain insight into your own creativity, and develop efficient work practices to allow you to plan, produce and deliver your own career development programs and practices.

Entry requirements
Program entry requirements
An Australian Graduate Certificate in Career Development or its equivalent. Applicants with significant work experience or professional practice may be considered.

A minimum IELTS (Academic module) overall score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0, or equivalent.

Learning outcomes
