The Graduate Diploma of Sustainable Practice is offered as an exit point from the Master of Sustainable Practice (MC240).

The Masters program is designed to meet industry demand for professionals who have expertise in sustainability issues and a qualification in the fundamentals of sustainability.The MSP suite of programs (Masters and Graduate Diploma) provides a forum for people with similar aims and questions to work together to explore solutions to sustainability problems.

This program was established to meet the industry demand for professionals who have expertise in sustainability issues and a qualification in the fundamentals of sustainability.The program explores the complexities of sustainability problems by bringing together people of similar interests, but who come from a range of discipline backgrounds.

It provides the opportunity for proactive learning under the guidance of a mentor (see Learning and Assessment for further details), and for you to explore your personal aspirations in the context of your career.You will learn from industry experts and fellow participants to equip yourself for professional practice in sustainability.

This program is an exit point only. If you are enrolled in the Master of Sustainable Practice and you wish to exit the Masters before completion, you may be eligible to graduate with the Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Practice.

Learning outcomes

Sustainability issues generate a broad range of problems and challenges. The program aims to address a diverse range of learning activities to underpin capabilities.

As a graduate of this program, you will have developed the following skills and capabilities:

Knowledge:

K1 : Coherent and advanced knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts of sustainability in one or more disciplines

K2 : Knowledge of research principles and methods

Skills:

S1 : Cognitive skills to review, analyse, consolidate and synthesise knowledge to identify and provide solutions to complex problems with intellectual independence

S2 : Cognitive and technical skills to demonstrate a broad understanding of a body of knowledge and theoretical concepts with advanced understanding in some areas

S3 : Cognitive skills to exercise critical thinking and judgement in developing new understanding
