About
The Graduate Diploma in Project Management provides a post graduate level qualification that will build upon and develop project management expertise and knowledge for people pursuing a career in the field of project management.
The courses in this program have been designed to enable you to develop and apply your advanced and specialised knowledge to a range of project management organisations and contexts.
You will be able to work in project based organisations including organisations that operate in project based sectors such as construction, architecture, engineering, information technology, government and non government and events management.
You will also be equipped to provide specialised project management in organisations that manage by projects such as retail, education, finance and manufacturing.This program emphasises the application of theoretical knowledge to practice and will build your capability to effectively respond to current and emerging issues, trends, and to client and organisational needs through your developed specialised practice.
In conjunction with the Master of Project Management, this program addresses the industry need for project management expertise which includes in relation to project scoping, design, development, implementation, risk management and evaluation.
The courses delivered within the program build your knowledge of the specialised domains within project management, including project procurement, project development and client management.
You will develop the analytical and technical skills required to utlise theoretical knowledge and published data to inform your decision making as project manager.The program replicates industry and professional practice contexts and equips you to work in multi disciplinary teams involved in the management of programs and/or portfolios of projects.
Upon graduation you will a Graduate Diploma in Project Management you will be able to perform a broad range of roles ranging from the conceptualisation and planning stages, through to project delivery and evaluation.
You will be able to interpret issues, and confidently provide expert project management advice applicable to diverse industries.
You will be experienced in team-based and individually led project management practice.Successful completion of this program provides a pathway to further learning into the Master of Project Management.
Upon successful completion of this program you may also be eligible to undertake further studies in related programs at RMIT University.The RMIT Graduate Diploma in Project Management is designed to enable you to work as a highly skilled project manager who has the potential and knowledge to succeed in various organisations which operate in project based sectors and organisations which manage by projects.
The program has a strong emphasis on leadership and management including project scoping, scheduling, procurement, entrepreneurship, client relationships, financial and technology management and research.
A blend of lectures and seminars with industry case studies and work relevant projects allows you to combine theory and practice in a real work environment.
The program develops both your generic and discipline specific capabilities through the expansion of knowledge and ideas that align with the current and emerging expectations of employers and industry.The RMIT Graduate Diploma in Project Management is designed to enable you to work as a highly skilled project manager who has the potential and knowledge to succeed in various organisations which operate in project based sectors and organisations which manage by projects.

Entry requirements
Successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification, or a minimum of 5 years professional work experience in a related industry. Applicants with professional experience at a senior level that is less than 5 years may also be considered.

English language requirements

Learning outcomes
As a graduate of this program you will be able to:

- Work autonomously and utlilise effective team work skills to plan and develop specialised project management strategy appropriate to range of organisational contexts and projects
- Critically examine and reflect on your work to question accepted interpretations, decision making and professional practice
- Apply appropriate research methods, tools and technical skills to plan, implement and evaluate projects that contribute to the profession and the field of knowledge in the discipline
