About
The Graduate Diploma of Data Science Strategy and Leadership equips graduates with the technical, business and communication skills to understand, partner with and service the analytical needs of finance, marketing, operations and technology teams.
Roles include Data Science or Analytics (DSA) Team Leader, Product Owner, or Strategist.Through the duration of this program you will participate in a variety of learning experiences which are designed to support you in developing the interdisciplinary skills of contemporary DSA team leaders.
The focus is on developing foundational programming, analytical and business skill and, knowledge transferable across a range of industries and relevant to specific organisational functions such as marketing and finance.
The curriculum incorporates:
Practical Data Science, Data Visualisation, Data Preprocessing, Applied Analytics, Data Architecture, Governance and Ethics, Consumer Analytics, Analytics, Strategy and Change and Financial Analytics for Managerial Decisions.Learning and teaching approaches for this program may include webinars, problem-based learning and case studies.
Activities and tasks are designed to facilitate theory application and peer learning in a collaborative, open manner using online tools and interactive discussion forums.The program will prepare you to work as a DSA Manager in the increasing number of organisations and businesses that leverage data sets to reach strategic goals and objectives.This program is available for online study only.

Entry requirements
- An Australian Bachelor degree (AQF 7) or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution in a business discipline OR
- An Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent in any non-business discipline with a minimum of 3 years Full Time Equivalent (FTE) work experience in an industry setting. Applicants will be required to submit a CV, OR
- Successful completion of the RMIT Graduate Certificate of Data Science AND with a minimum of 3 years Full Time Equivalent (FTE) work experience in an industry setting. Applicants will be required to submit a CV OR
- Australian Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master’s degree or equivalent in Business (or a related discipline).

Learning outcomes
In this program you will learn and apply the critical thinking, and communication skills required of DSA Team Leaders in a variety of contemporary organisations. You will gain knowledge of the strategic, analytical and technological influences on data teams and technology. You will develop the decision-making capabilities required to manage people, teams and technology to maximise the value of data sets and apply this through a variety of activity-based learning experiences.
