About
The studies in Arts Management are structured to maximise the prior learning of each student and to provide pathways to suit each student’s professional and academic needs.
They are geared to meet the needs of practitioners who are working or wish to work and/or broaden their career opportunities as artists or managers.Upon completion of the program, you will have the skills, professional knowledge and capabilities to work effectively in the arts management industry.
You will be aware of the changing environment and able to operate effectively within the various contexts of this environment with practical skills, outputs and networks in arts management.
The program is geared to the contemporary worker and workplace with the aim of fostering leadership in arts related fields and delivering a program of study that meets real world needs relevant to a wide range of arts management contexts.The capstone experiences of the course (Integrated Projects 1 and 2) will see you take part and reflect in major arts projects relevant to your current or future career.
From directing festivals to curating museums, this program will provide the ethical and practical foundations for a rewarding career in the arts.

Entry requirements
Academic entrance requirements:
An Australian bachelor degree in any discipline or its equivalent. Applicants with significant work experience or professional practice may also be considered.

Learning outcomes
As a graduate, you will develop the following program learning outcomes:
1. Attain appropriate and relevant arts management knowledge, with the ability to critique, use and apply that knowledge across a range of situations, enabling effective judgments in dealing with new and emerging issues in the field
2. Carry out self directed learning and independent research to develop your individual arts management practice and locate your work globally within an appropriate conceptual and theoretical context
3. Critically evaluate and make judgments on the social, legal and international aspects of actions and decisions in arts management, with an understanding of professional expectations and ethical requirements
4. Communicate through practice and policy in a sustainable manner with a wide range of audiences in multidisciplinary means with an appreciation of communication as a personal and cultural practice
5. Demonstrate the skills of research, analysis and presentation within professional and academic fields
6. Engage critically in theoretical, historical, social, legal, environmental and cultural contexts with reference to the arts management industry context
7. Demonstrate the capacity to work independently, as well as with others in group and team activities and decision-making processes to seek innovative and critically reflective solutions and outcomes
8. Engage critically, creatively and effectively using available resources to solve arts management issues and reflect on the process and outcomes.
