About

The Master of Property has been designed for you to develop specialised theoretical knowledge and technical skills in property and will enable you to meet the needs of this increasingly dynamic, diverse and complex sector.

This program emphasises the theoretical knowledge and practical skills and expertise required to work effectively as a property professional and meet the industry need for high level expertise, and management.The courses in this program have been designed to enable you to critically engage with contemporary property theory and apply your developed knowledge and skills to creatively address industry problems and imperatives, and to realise business opportunities across the corporate and residential sectors.

Courses have been designed to developed a breadth of skills and knowledge, including within the domains of property acquisition, property management, property development, property feasibility and financing.Through your learning in this program you will critically evaluate and apply key property concepts, processes and practices to assess and provide expert advice on property development projects.

Your capability to analyse and interpret current and emerging trends and market forces within the property industry will also inform your expert judgement and decision making.

You will develop a breadth of specialised skills and knowledge which includes investment valuation techniques, property feasibility analysis, property data analysis, property acquisition, property development, property management and financing.

The program is also designed to enable you to engage in industry focused research and to utilise your research skills to critically evaluate the property market.A capstone experience is offered through either an individually negotiated professional practice project or a minor thesis in which you will integrate and synthesise your knowledge, connect theory to practice, and demonstrate your holistic achievement of the program learning outcomes.Upon successful completion of this program you will have developed the specialised skills and knowledge to enable you to work in a range of high level roles as a property specialist including in acquisition, property asset management, portfolio funds management, property analyst and property developer.As a graduate of this program, you will be equipped with a sound knowledge of property as an asset class within local and global contexts and be able to independently conduct research, and analyse current and emerging industry trends, to ensure expert individual and collaborative decision making.

You will be equipped to apply your team work and management skills to formulate industry solutions, and provide informed evidenced based decision making in property.

As a property professional you be will be a strategic thinker, responsive to future industry directions, and the needs of property stakeholders.Successful completion of this program provides a pathway to a PhD.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification, or a minimum of 8 years professional work experience in a related industry. Applicants with professional experience at a senior level that is less than 8 years may also be considered.

English language requirements

A minimum of IELTS (Academic module) overall score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0, or equivalent. For equivalents to English entry requirements, see the English requirements web page.
