About
The Master of Financial Planning provides you with practical and theoretical knowledge, skills and expertise to become a literate and analytical practitioner in Financial Planning.
This program is designed for graduates of non-financial planning disciplines who wish to broaden their career prospects and practise as a registered Financial Planner.
The Master of Financial Planning aims to develop essential knowledge and skills in core areas of financial planning and business with an appreciation of the social, environmental, cultural and ethical issues impacting on contemporary business environments.Upon successful completion of the program you will be eligible to become a registered financial planner in Australia subject to meeting all applicable FASEA standards.The capstone course BAFI3241 Critical Analysis in Financial Planning will give you the opportunity to critically reflect on this program’s curriculum.
This course will promote the integration and synthesis of a range of knowledge and skills gained in the program and the application of these in discipline related real-world scenarios leading to work readiness or entry to graduate studies.This program is delivered on-campus.

Entry requirements
Academic Entrance requirements
- An Australian bachelor’s degree or equivalent or higher level qualification, in a business discipline from a recognised tertiary institution; or
- An Australian bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline and a minimum of three years full-time equivalent management experience*; or
- Australian Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters degree or equivalent in Business (or a related discipline)
* Applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV) to support management experience. This might include evidence on team, project or portfolio management in accounting and finance related areas. Other evidence might include coordinating policy planning, directing and controlling organisational resources.
