Tourism is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing industries and offers exciting global careers.The sector also faces challenges from climate change, ‘overtourism’ in some destinations and digital disruption – you need both solid fundamental management skills and a deep understanding of these wider issues for a satisfying and successful long-term career.The theme of responsible enterprise drives the core units in this course, that develop your skills in marketing, finance and human resources management.

In addition to the core units, there are three majors to choose from.

Each addresses sustainability challenges facing the tourism, hospitality and events industries, developing the management skills you will need to work and thrive in these professional environments.The course culminates with a compulsory internship experience that provides you with practical skills to network and gain employment internationally.You'll be well-prepared for management careers in tourism, hospitality and events.

Entry requirements

To be eligible to receive the Bachelor of Tourism Management, students must complete the equivalent of 24 units (288 credit points) comprising:

  • 8 core units (96 credit points),
  • 1 major (96 credit points), and
  • 8 elective units (96 credit points)

OR

  • 8 core units (96 credit points),
  • 1 major (96 credit points), and
  • 1 shared major (96 credit points).

Exit Award

Students may be eligible to exit with an Associate Degree of Tourism Management after completing the equivalent of 16 units (192 credit points), comprising 8 core units (96 credit points) and 8 major and/or elective units (96 credit points).
