Knowledge of the intricacies of the law and of business can give you a competitive edge, regardless of the field you work in.Our five-year double degree takes you into many areas of the law relevant to Australian organisations – from industrial relations to corporate finance.
You can tailor your degree through the choice of a business major and a wide range of law electives.Graduates are prepared for a wide range of career opportunities extending across the law and business in the private and public sectors.
The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) fulfils the academic requirements for admission to the legal profession.
Professional admission authorities also require law graduates of all universities to complete practical legal training or similar to be eligible to practise as a lawyer.All Bachelor of Business graduates are eligible for admission to the Australian Institute of Management (AIM), and some business majors provide professional accreditation in the tax and finance industries.Applicants who do not have the required entry mark for a double degree in law are encouraged to apply for the Bachelor of Business in the first instance.

Entry requirements
To be eligible to receive the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Laws, students must complete 40 units (480 credit points), comprising:
- 24 core units (288 credit points); and
- 1 Business Major (96 credit points); and
- 4 Law electives (48 credit points); and
- 4 Business electives (48 credit points).
Bachelor of Laws with Honours
To be eligible to receive the Bachelor of Laws with Honours, students must:
- fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Laws; and
- complete the units LAW10181 - Legal Research: Context, Perspective and Method and LAW00524 - Independent Legal Research; and
- achieve a satisfactory standard of academic performance in law units as determined by the School Board, School of Law and Justice.
Class of Honours
The Bachelor of Laws with Honours may be awarded in the following classes:
- First Class Honours;
- Second Class Honours (Division I); or
- Second Class Honours (Division II).
Exit Award
Students may be eligible to exit with the Bachelor of Laws or the Bachelor of Business upon completion of the requirements of the single degree.
