About
The Postgraduate Qualifying Program (PQP) develops study skills at the postgraduate level.
It is designed for international students whose academic qualifications are slightly below Southern Cross University’s entry requirements for postgraduate degrees.Students who successfully complete the PQP meet the academic and English language entry requirements for the following on-campus postgraduate courses at Southern Cross University:
Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Professional Accounting (MPA), Master of International Tourism and Hotel Management (MITHM), Master of Information Technology or the Master of Engineering Management, Master of Business Administration (MEM/MBA).
Students who successfully complete the PQP also receive two units of advanced standing towards these courses.

Entry requirements
Applicants will need to have completed a full-time, three-year, higher education sector, post-secondary (post-Year 12) study qualification.
Applicants for admission to candidature to the Postgraduate Qualifying Program must have an assessable entry qualification from a country where English is the main language and where the medium of instruction for that qualification was English, or have completed an IELTS Academic Test (or present comparable test scores*) with:
- a minimum overall score of 6.0 and a minimum score of 5.5 in each subtest (or comparable test scores*) for the 15 weeks English Language Program concurrent with academic units
* Comparable scores include SCU College Placement Test scores, CPE, CAE and TOEFL PBT (see www.scu.edu.au/englishskills).
- To meet the requirements of this course a student must complete three (3) units comprising:
- All units in Part A; and
- One unit from Part B
