In this nationally recognised qualification students will learn to participate in, initiate, lead on and report on a quality audit.
To facilitate continuous improvement, to prepare and deliver a presentation on your finding and to communicate in an influential way during a group setting.
The Lead Auditor in WHS & QMS workshop module is certified by Exemplar Global.
Attendees who successfully complete this course will receive a Certificate of Attainment following which students have the option to apply directly to Exemplar Global for Certification as:
Provisional QMS Auditor/QMS Auditor (based on experience) or Provisional OHS Auditor/OHS Auditor (based on experience) Unlike other training providers, at Swinburne Professional we believe in the holistic development of each person and therefore our qualifications have been structured to not only provide the technical skills required but also to develop the leadership and management capabilities of each person relevant to the level of study that they are engaged in.
This program is also offered as a Double Diploma along with the Diploma of Work Health and Safety.

Structure
This course is delivered in workshop Clusters. Clusters can be completed in any order.Face-to-face participants complete 8 units of competency delivered across 3 clusters.

Face-to-face delivery
Students attend a series of workshops where they will learn the technical skills needed to carry out an audit in a business environment.
The compulsory sessions run Monday to Friday from 9:00AM to 5.00PM, at the Hawthorn (Melbourne) campus.
Lead Auditor Cluster: Face to Face Delivery only at Hawthorn Campus. Due to COVID restrictions this workshop cluster is temporarily on hold.
Workplace delivery
This course (or units from it) can be tailored to industry delivery within the workplace for groups of eight or more students. Students may enrol in the course at any stage during the year. Students have the chance to select from a range of dates for elective units to determine the duration of their course.
Assessment
The 5 day Lead Auditor cluster is assessed through a series of activities conducted within the training room throughout the course and with an exam on day 5. On completion of each of the two remaining clusters students will undertake an assessment which they will be given 6 weeks to complete. The 5 assessments for the 5 day Lead Auditor cluster are accredited by Exemplar Global.
Learning outcomes
Students will learn the skills and knowledge required to:
- prepare for and participate in a quality audit as a member of a quality audit team
- initiate and organise a quality audit with an auditee
- lead an audit team as it runs a quality audit
- report on the outcomes of a quality audit and to take appropriate follow up action
- lead and manage continuous improvement systems and processes
- prepare, deliver and review a presentation to a target audience
- manage a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation processes, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting meeting outcomes
- present and negotiate persuasively, lead and participate in meetings and make presentations to customers, clients and others.
