Structure
The Graduate Certificate of Corporate Governance will equip graduates with a range of skills which may assist them on the path to becoming company directors, with an understanding of law, leadership and design thinking issues. The role of governance is becoming more important and evident due to highly visible corporate failures, executive remuneration, and corporate decision making. A knowledge of governance is becoming more important for those in senior management roles, including board members, company directors, members of the C-suite, company secretaries, accountants and workers looking to move into senior management roles. Equipping graduates with this knowledge will help them to navigate legal and governance issues in decision making.
The Graduate Certificate of Corporate Governance forms the first stage in a nested suite of programs consisting of:
- Graduate Certificate of Corporate Governance
- Graduate Diploma of Corporate Governance (GD-CORGOV) ^
- Master of Corporate GovernanceMaster of Corporate Governance (Advanced)
A student cannot be awarded two masters level courses from the same nested suite
This course is for working professionals. That’s why we offer it in Intensive Mode. It’s an efficient and faster way to complete a postgraduate qualification with minimal impact on your professional and personal life. Units (subjects) are either delivered after work hours or on Fridays or Saturdays, and run throughout the year in six week teaching periods instead of the usual 12 week semesters. This means you can complete more units and graduate faster, or take breaks when you need to.
To qualify for the award of Graduate Certificate of Corporate Governance students must complete four core units (or equivalent) (50 credit points).Maximum Academic CreditThe maximum level of credit that can be granted for the Graduate Certificate of Corporate Governance is 25 credit points (normally two units)

A recognised bachelor degree in any discipline PLUS a minimum of three years equivalent full-time relevant professional experience* ora minimum of five years equivalent full-time relevant professional experience*
*Relevant professional/managerial experience and evidence of academic capability will be determined by the Faculty PVC (or delegate) with reference to Faculty determined guiding principles. Applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV) with their application. Documents substantiating relevant experience are required, clearly detailing roles and duration, as well as evidence of formal and non-formal learning. Where relevant experience is used for the basis of admission, no further recognition for prior learning/credit can be granted on that basis.Learning outcomes
At completion of the Graduate Certificate of Corporate Governance, graduates will be able to:
