The Graduate Certificate of Human Resource Management is designed for those looking to embark on, or advance their career as a human resource practitioner.
Co-created with industry partner, Siemens, the course provides a broad understanding of human resource management and explores the core capabilities required for effective leadership in a rapidly changing business environment.
The course allows articulation into the Master of Human Resource Management and is part of Swinburne’s Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (AGSE).
Structure
The Graduate Certificate of Human Resource Management is designed for high-performing students who are looking to build skills as human resource practitioners. The course covers a range of topics relating to aspects of human resource management and the development of core capabilities required to lead people effectively in a rapidly changing business environment The Graduate Certificate of Human Resource Management can be a pathway to Masters degrees such as a Master of Human Resource Management.
To qualify for the award of Graduate Certificate of Human Resource Management students must complete 50 credit points comprising:

- a bachelor degree (or higher award) in a related discipline from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent;
- a recognised bachelor degree (or higher award) in any discipline PLUS a minimum of two years equivalent full-time relevant professional experience*
- a minimum of three years equivalent full-time relevant professional experience*
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate of Human Resource Management, graduates will be able to:
- apply coherent and developed knowledge of human resource management concepts in diverse contexts and applications using critical thinking
- apply problem solving, design and decision making methodologies to identify and provide innovative solutions to complex problems with reference to established frameworks
- communicate proficiently in professional practice to a variety of audiences, function as an effective member or leader of a diverse team
- demonstrate integrity, ethical conduct, accountability, respect and a developing awareness of professional practices and cultural norms in a global and sustainable context.
