The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Skills (Surgical Anatomy) acts as an embedded course within the Master of Surgery and, provides a sound knowledge and understanding of human anatomy that underpins successful surgical practice through a series of whole-body cadaveric dissections taught by subspecialist surgeons.It is regarded as the gold standard in anatomy tuition.
The course also provides a pathway for registrars or registered medical officers to prepare for the human anatomy knowledge requirement of the Part 1 Surgical Primary examination delivered by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.Units completed for the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Skills (Surgical Anatomy) can be recognised for credit towards the Master of Surgery.

Entry requirements
Admission criteria
Applicants with the following qualifications may be eligible for admission to the Surgical Anatomy stream: a medical degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; and a traineeship with the relevant surgical training program of RACS or equivalent; or employment as resident medical officer in an Australian hospital, satisfactory interview, satisfactory references, and approval by Head of Discipline or their nominee; or a Fellowship of the RACS.
For admission you will need to attend an interview with the Head of the Discipline of Surgery, or their nominee, whose approval you will need for admission to the course.
