Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies (TESOL)

If you're seeking a shorter period of study than that required for the Master of Education (TESOL) degree, you should consider this program.

You can still choose to complete your certificate with units of study that suit your interests, or specialise in your chosen field from our offerings in TESOL.Subject to meeting progression requirements in the graduate certificate, you may apply to transfer to the Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies or the Master of Education.

The course does not provide a recognised teaching qualification but is part of the broader postgraduate educational studies program for leaders and future leaders of dynamic and innovative education.

Admission requirement

Admission to candidature requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either a postgraduate English language teaching qualification or at least two yearsfull-time English language teaching experience; or
• a bachelor's degree in English language teaching or equivalent qualification and at least one year's full-time English language teaching experience.

Subject to meeting progression requirements in the graduate certificate, you may apply to transfer to the Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies or the Master of Education.
