The Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) is a practical and clinically focused course that will refine your ability to diagnose, investigate and manage common and important diseases in adults.
It will guide your care of patients and will be readily integrated into your daily clinical work.This course was launched in 2017 and is delivered jointly by the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne, bringing a unique breadth of teaching and clinical experience.Study at a basic or advanced level in most of the medical specialties, and tailor the degree to your needs and interests.
A broad range of elective units are also offered, including units in clinical teaching, statistical analysis, grant writing and other research skills.The largely online nature of the course means that you can continue your educational program during rotation to suburban, rural and regional hospitals.This course is offered through our interactive online learning environment, giving you the flexibility to tailor your study schedule around your lifestyle.All stream specific units are online.
There is one capstone unit however;
that does have a face-to-face component.
Entry requirements
Admission criteria
Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Medicine (Internal Medicine) requires a medical degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and the following:
- current medical registration in an Australian or New Zealand jurisdiction
- current or prior employment as a medical practitioner in a clinical setting in an Australian or New Zealand jurisdiction.
