During this course, you will study migration, corruption, crisis management, governance and the environment.
The course also brings together theoretical insights from public policy, with examples from the political world.The degree is designed for those working or looking to work in government and the public sector, and for those working in non-government or private sector bodies who seek a better understanding of the role of government in public policy making.
Based within the University's Department of Government and International Relations, you will study electives such as international relations, comparative politics and Australian politics, gaining a deeper understanding of policy design and implementation.

Admission requirement
Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Public Policy requires:
- a bachelor's degree with a minimum 60% average calculated over the whole degree with a major in social sciences, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; or
- completion of the Graduate Certificate in Public Policy with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification.
You can progress from the Graduate Diploma to Masters in the same subject area, after successful completion of the shorter course.
