The Master of Education (Taronga Conservation Education) degree will enable you to join the next generation of environmental influencers and educators leading the community to rethink the way we live and the impact we have on the environment.
Using Taronga Conservation Society Australia as a case study, you will investigate conservation programs being implemented across both Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, NSW.Our classes will take place at the University of Sydney and the Taronga Institute of Science and Learning at Taronga Zoo.
The Institute offers access to the wider Zoo campus providing you with an authentic and interactive learning experience in an environment of working science.Learning from University of Sydney experts in education and science, you will acquire a deeper understanding of complex ecosystems, and gain the confidence to engage in environmental concerns with community and environmental stakeholders.The Master of Education (Taronga Conservation Education) degree will help you achieve:Commonwealth Supported PlacesCommonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available for postgraduate study for eligible domestic students.
This means that your course fees are subsidised by the Australian Government and you pay a student contribution amount (SCA).
CSPs are limited in number and are allocated based on academic merit.

Admission requirement
Admission to candidature for the Master of Education (Taronga Conservation Education) requires:
- a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of postgraduate studies, or professional experience equivalent to one year full-time in a field considered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences to be appropriate to the program of study; or
- a bachelor's degree and either the Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; or
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of postgraduate studies in Education, or professional experience equivalent to two years full-time in a field considered by the School to be appropriate to the program of study.
