There will not be an intake for this degree from Semester 1, 2021.The Executive Master of Arts and Social Sciences is an innovative, cutting-edge program designed for those who aspire to professional leadership roles, display executive potential and who would like to combine their professional aspirations with an interest in the arts and social sciences.This course has a strong emphasis on public policy analysis, cultural awareness and sensitivity, ethical reasoning and critical analysis which, together with a focus on problem solving, leadership, legal strategy and communication, equips you with a highly transferable and flexible skillset.At the University of Sydney, we offer one of the world's only cross-disciplinary executive leadership master's qualifications in arts and social sciences.
Take the opportunity to tailor your course by combining our comprehensive arts and social sciences curriculum with specialised coursework in other disciplines and faculties including Business, Law, Education and Science.Commonwealth Supported PlacesCommonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available for postgraduate study for eligible domestic students.
This means that your course fees are subsidised by the Australian Government and you pay a student contribution amount (SCA).
CSPs are limited in number and are allocated based on academic merit.
Entry requirements
Admission requirement
Admission to candidature for the Executive Master of Arts and Social Sciences (2 years full-time) requires:
- a bachelor's degree with a with a 65% average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification.
- at least 3 years work experience or experience in a leadership position
In addition, all candidates must supply:
- a personal statement of no more than 500 words; and
- a Curriculum Vitae focused on academic and professional achievements.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have completed previous studies in a related area or have relevant work experience, you can reduce the length of you studies or receive credit based on the Recognition of Prior Learning criteria below:
Admission to candidature for the Executive Master of Arts and Social Sciences (1.5 years full-time) requires:
- a bachelor's degree in the Humanities, Social Sciences or Law with a minimum credit (65%) average from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification;
Admission to candidature for the Executive Master of Arts and Social Sciences (1 year full-time) requires:
- a bachelor's degree with honours in the Humanities, Social Sciences or Law, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification.
