This course builds on the knowledge you've gained during the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine), allowing high-achieving students to plan and carry out a supervised research project.In this advanced stream, students complete a research project in an area of specific interest to them and their master's degree.

On completion of the advanced project, students will be able to plan and execute a substantial research project and prepare a scholarly work which may be a paper for publication.Students must first complete the requirements of the master's program.

This means that your course fees are subsidised by the Australian Government and you pay a student contribution amount (SCA).

CSP places are limited in number and are allocated based on academic merit.

Entry requirements

Admission criteria

Admission to the Master of Medicine (Advanced) (Internal Medicine) requires:

  • completion of the requirements for the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine)
  • an average mark of at least 75 percent in 24 credit points of compulsory and/or stream units of study
  • any other requirements as stated by the faculty at the time of application.
