This program enables you to qualify to teach children from birth to five years.
You will develop the knowledge and skills to become an outstanding early childhood teacher, professional decision maker, ethical leader, and theoretical and practical thinker.Become a teacher with this two-year program.
Gain hands-on experience with 40 days of teaching practice in early childhood settings, a 45-day internship and a professional research project.
This experience will ensure you develop the confidence, knowledge and skills to become a successful early childhood teacher.Commonwealth Supported PlacesCommonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available for postgraduate study for eligible domestic students.
This means that your course fees are subsidised by the Australian Government and you pay a student contribution amount (SCA).
CSPs are limited in number and are allocated based on academic merit.
Entry requirements
Admission requirement
Available places will be offered to qualified applicants based on merit. Admission to Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) candidature requires:
- a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; and
- the completion of any additional qualifying courses prescribed by the Faculty.
English language requirements must be met where these are not demonstrated by sufficient qualifications taught in English.
In exceptional circumstances, the Dean may admit applicants without these qualifications who in the opinion of the Faculty have qualifications and evidence of experience and achievement sufficient to successfully undertake the award.
