The Undergraduate Certificate in Foundations of Education offers students the opportunity to experience University-level studies in teaching.

Students will explore the ideas and approaches to learning that form a base from which to progress to a Bachelor of Education.

Structure

The Undergraduate Certificate in Foundations of Education consists of four compulsory courses.

  • EDUC1004 Academic Skills
  • EDUC1006 Learning and Development
  • EDUC1016 Mathematics and Numeracy
  • EDUC1009 English, Language and Literacy

Please note that although this certificate is delivered wholly online, the Bachelor of Primary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education require attendance on the Sydney campus.

Entry requirements

The minimum entry requirements of The University of Notre Dame Australia apply for the Undergraduate Certificate in Foundations of Education.

While minimum entry requirements need to be met, we also consider a student’s application more broadly — their non-academic achievements (professional work experience, leadership roles, volunteering, community and/or church involvement), as well as their personal qualities, aspirations, interests and capacity to successfully complete this program.
