Entry requirements
Entry requirements
Applicants are required to:
- hold a completed Bachelor degree (or higher) in Nursing from a recognised higher education institution; AND
- have achieved a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5 (credit average) or international equivalent.
In addition, applicants must:
- hold a Current Practising Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or, for international students, be eligible to be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in their own country or place of residence; AND
- have completed a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
Learning outcomes
The Master of Nursing aims to provide registered nurses with the opportunity to make an advanced contribution to nursing practice, empowering you to undertake and implement research and embrace leadership and management roles. You will advance your capacity to expertly identify and investigate questions, issues or problems that will improve and inform health care practice, knowledge and research.
As part of your studies, you will complete independent research under the supervision of experts in the field, not only advancing your research skills, but ultimately contributing to the development and dissemination of new knowledge.
For each course you study, you will need to allocate time for learning activities. Depending on your study mode this may include online discussion forums, virtual classroom sessions, lectures, tutorials, workshops and seminars. Plus you will need additional hours to study in your own time to complete assignments, readings and projects. As a general rule most postgraduate study is completed part-time and if you are studying full-time you would need to allocate 12 – 26 hours of study when at university and 14 – 28 hours of independent study per week.

It is also across the road from the Adelaide train station, and on bus and tram routes.
