Actuarial Studies Majors3586 - Actuarial Studies
Students may elect to complete ACTLE1 or MATHE1 in addition to their Actuarial Studies program requirements.Students completing these majors will still need to complete the program requirements such as Level 1 and 2 core course as well as Level 3 electives. These majors will require UOC to be taken from Business School electives and/or General Education courses. Completion of an additional major is optional. Students may choose a maximum of one specialisations listed below.Please note: Completion of an additional major within a combined Actuarial Studies degree may result in more UOC required for degree completion.Students in Actuarial Studies/Economics cannot complete an additional ECON-coded major/minor. They must complete ECONA1, ECONJ1 or ECONE1 to meet their Economics requirements. Major Requirements: 48 UOC in an approved disciplinary stream containing at least 18 UOC at level 3. (Note that the 48 UOC includes the first disciplinary course(s) in the Core (Compulsory or Flexible). This means that, for the majority of majors, students will complete 42 UOC in specified disciplinary courses outside the core, (except for the Real Estate Studies major).Please Note:-The Business Law major (TABLA1) is not available to students enrolled in 4733 Commerce/Law.- Commerce/Education (secondary) 3462 students can only choose one major from:(a) Business Economics(b) Financial Economics(c) Business Strategy and Economic Management(d) Accounting (students who wish to meet CPA/CAANZ professional recognition requirements in this major will need to complete an additional Upper Level Economics elective above what is required within the commerce component)keyboard_arrow_down

UOC remaining after completion of the Compulsory core, Flexible core and Major requirements for the following double degree should be taken from within the UNSW Business School to ensure minimum program requirements are met.- Commerce/Information Systems 3584 (24-30UOC in UNSW Business School courses to ensure a student completes a minimum of 96UOC of Business courses within the Bachelor of Commerce.
