Students will philosophically reflect on questions about art, literature, science and religion while also investigating such topics as the nature of selfhood, truth, reason and wisdom.
Students will discover how great ideas and art can shape us - our understanding of ourselves and the world - and how ideas can make a difference for good or ill.
By undertaking this double degree students will also master the prescribed areas of knowledge needed for future admission to the legal profession.
It will equip students with skills in legal research, interviewing, legal drafting, advocacy and negotiation.
Structure
To qualify for award of the degree, the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation – Bachelor of Laws, a candidate must successfully complete at least 240 credit points in line with the table below: 1. All compulsory Law subjects for the Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) (114 credit points); 2. 30 credit points of electives from the Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) 3. Core subjects for the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation (96 credit points);
