About
The Master of Occupational Hygiene at UOW provides an integrated teaching and research program to promote the highest level of safety by inspiring the next generation of Occupational Hygiene Professionals.
UOW's Occupational Hygiene programs have been developed in conjunction with a wide range of industry sectors to address the complex nature of occupational health and safety in the workplace.
The Master of Occupational Hygiene provides an intensive program of study.
Knowledge and skill development throughout the course is applied to a research-based capstone workplace project in the final stage of the degree to develop a high level of evidence-based professional practice.
Structure
To qualify for award of this degree, a candidate must satisfactorily complete a total of at least 72 credit points, comprised of the following:

Learning outcomes
Course Learning Outcomes are statements of learning achievement that are expressed in terms of what the learner is expected to know, understand and be able to do upon completion of a course. Students graduating from this course will be able to:
CLO Description 1 Develop advanced Occupational Hygiene skills and knowledge, and demonstrate application through evaluation and control of current and emerging workplace health issues. 2 Critically analyse, and effectively interpret and communicate complex occupational hygiene issues to key workplace stakeholders with creativity, logic and critical thinking. 3 Effectively analyse, interpret and convey occupational health risks and solutions; and present through a range of mediums to influence and engage with people in diverse workplace settings and cultural environments. 4 Design and execute best practice Occupational Hygiene workplace evaluation and control methodologies demonstrating sound research principles and mastery of Occupational Hygiene practice. 5 Develop and apply appropriate professional and ethical approaches to integrate Occupational Hygiene practice in a wide range of contexts. 6 Identify, critically evaluate, synthesize and apply appropriate technologies for professional practice in OHS in order to function effectively in the digital environment.
