The Master of Social Work (Qualifying) is aimed at graduates who are working in the community services sector, or who wish to work in that sector, and who want a professionally accredited, advanced qualification.

Graduates who can demonstrate at least a year of social science content related to the individual and society, from bachelor degrees such as Social Science, Arts, Community Welfare, Education, Nursing, Policy Studies, Psychology or Sociology are welcome to apply.The curriculum for practice through which students will become social work practitioners throughout their years of their study and beyond has been the basis for the development of social work at UOW.The program will equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and ethical foundations to engage in practice for individual, social and collective wellbeing from a social justice perspective.

Structure

The Master of Social Work (Qualifying) requires the successful completion of at least 96 credit points in accordance with the table below.

Learning outcomes
