This program provides intern pharmacists with specialised training and skills in pharmacy practice.

The program combines academic excellence with pharmacy practice to provide intern pharmacists the opportunity to gain a formal postgraduate qualification.

The program has been developed not only to address the competence required by the Pharmacy Board of Australia standards, but with a focus on a program that is relevant to contemporary pharmacy practice.

It is developed, delivered and supported by a team of community and hospital pharmacists with extensive practice experience which allows interns to leverage off the expertise of a wide range of pharmacist practitioners.

Structure

Whether completing your internship in a community or hospital setting, the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice is a comprehensive, industry relevant program with a strong clinical and practical focus. You will develop and apply knowledge and skills in a wide range of areas relevant to pharmacy practice, including: pharmacy legal and professional requirements primary healthcare communication of information therapeutics clinical pharmacy dispensing, dispensing procedures and risk management patient interviewing and medication review drug interactions and adverse drug reactions identifying and managing prescription problems critical thinking and problem solving medicines information complementary medicines evidence based practice calculations health promotion and harm minimisation.

Entry requirements

To complete the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice

To fulfil the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
